Recently, the College of Civil Engineering at HQU has developed and launched an AI counselor, “Star”. The innovative tool operates through the collaboration of two intelligent assistants: “Xing Ge” (Star Brother), who specializes in academic assistance and career guidance, and “Chen Jie” (Star Sister), who focuses on fostering students’ physical and mental development.
Since its launch, Star has responded to over 650 inquiries, garnering attention from both teachers and students, due to its 24/7 availability, instant response, precise integration of learning resources, and intelligent analysis of campus policies.
Moreover, Star features voice input, allowing students to interact verbally, which simplifies the operation process and significantly improves the communication efficiency between teachers and students.
Built upon the Star Navigation Counselor Studio of the College of Civil Engineering, Star is equipped with a knowledge base that covers university history and affairs, file downloading, course learning, daily routines, extracurricular activities, career counseling, and mental health.
The College of Civil Engineering aims to keep up with the advancements in AI. They plan to construct a closed-loop education system of “demand perception - intelligent analysis - personalized supply”, to promote the innovation of ideological and political work, and actively explore a new model of “AI + Ideological and Political Education”.
