As the new semester begins, Huaqiao University is accelerating the integration of AI technology in teaching and research. Smart projects powered by DeepSeek technology has been implemented to create a more efficient and streamlined smart campus for students and faculty.

The Department of IT Development and Management has successfully facilitated the integration of its exclusive cloud platform “HQU Cloud” with DeepSeek. The platform's PC version (https://pan.hqu.edu.cn/) now has an AI assistant that supports the popular DeepSeek-1-671B and DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen-32B models. This will help faculty and students with tasks such as lesson planning, report organization, and web content analysis.

To further support its community, Huaqiao University has connected to the “CERNET Authentication and Resource Sharing Infrastructure” (CARSI), enabling account interoperability with Zhejiang University’s “Chat Zju” platform (https://chat.zju.edu.cn/profile). Faculty and students can now log in “Chat Zju” using their HQU account, an easy access to cross-university academic resources and an open opportunity for further research collaboration.

To advance technology applications, College of Computer Science and technology and College of Engineering are collaborating with relevant enterprises to develop AI intelligent agents. Notably, the College of Engineering has launched Gongbao Graduation Project Assistant, a large model for evaluating and optimizing graduation theses.

Throughout this implementation, HQU has consistently prioritized safety and risk prevention and control, assessing potential security threats and developing preventive measures to ensure the secure application of technology.

Looking ahead, Huaqiao University plans to further explore the application of DeepSeek in teaching, research and discipline development, aiming to enhance the integration of artificial intelligence into campus life and contribute to the university's development and innovation.
