On February 23-24, the “Belt and Road” Industry Talent Training and Employment Matching Event, jointly organized by Huaqiao University, Cunjin Group, and luosi.com, was held at the Xiamen campus. The event, themed “Integration of Industry and Education: Empowering Development”, explored the international development trends of the fastener industry and the cultivation of industry talent. It attracted the participation of 50 international students from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other countries.

During a meeting with visiting representatives, Xu Xipeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huaqiao University, outlined three key priorities: actively responding to the needs of the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthening the collaborative education framework with enterprises, and driving meaningful advancements in their cooperation. The event was chaired by Wang Xiuyong, Vice President of Huaqiao University, with Huang Weidong, Chairman of Cunjin Group, Yang Junfeng, Chairman of luosi.com, and Wang Zongrong, Professor of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, in attendance. They held in-depth discussions on creating a specialized talent training program, enhancing internship and training facilities, and helping Southeast Asian students secure employment in their home countries. They also agreed to move forward with a “customized training and high-quality employment” cooperation model.

During the training and employment presentation session, the visiting enterprises outlined their tailored training for high-paying targeted employment approach, delving into specific programs for positions including quality engineers and foreign trade specialists. They also held a Q&A session afterward for the attending international students. The event has forged a pathway for talent exchange among BRI countries and introduced a fresh model for collaboration between academia and industry.
